Devotional Prompts

When you request a devotional, the text you share (what is on your heart) is sent to our AI providers to generate personalized content. We store the generated devotionals associated with your account.

Usage Data

We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including device information, app version, and general usage patterns. This data helps us improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Generate personalized devotional content using AI.
  • Store your journal entries and saved content for your personal use.
  • Process subscriptions and payments through app store providers.
  • Communicate with you about the Service, including updates and support.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the Service.

4. AI Processing

Karibu uses artificial intelligence services to generate devotional content. When you submit a devotional prompt, your input is processed by third-party AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate your devotional. These providers process your input according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

We do not use your personal devotional prompts or journal entries to train AI models. Your content is used solely to generate your requested devotionals.

We use third-party services for database hosting, user authentication, AI content generation, subscription management, and app distribution. These services process your data according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with PostgreSQL. We implement row-level security policies to ensure that your personal data (journal entries, saved devotionals) is accessible only to you. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your data only in the following circumstances:

  • With AI providers as necessary to generate your devotional content.
  • With payment processors to manage your subscription.
  • When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data through the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Portability — Request your data in a portable format.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (devotionals, journal entries, saved content) is permanently deleted from our systems.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
